Brother Edward Leslie Beers, Grand Master of New South Wales, speaking on the subject: "What is the mission of Freemasonry in a modern community," had the following to say: "We know that Masonry does not exist to combat any particular evil, to solve any special problem, to advance any particular cult, or propagate any precise dogma on the outside world. It is not for social fellowship, although that forms part of it. It is not constituted for benevolence alone - although benevolence has a significant place in its precepts and practice. It teaches no science, yet science holds an important position within it. It favors no philosophic school, yet Text Box: a profound philosophy permeates its system of symbolism. It instructs no special arts, yet all the arts are honored. It has no religious creed, yet religion forms its foundation and crowns its pinnacles. It is not a product of any age, nor the work of any nation. It is the evolution and growth of centuries and has received contributions from many nations and people. The mission of Freemasonry is the building of the ideal Temple and he is the true Mason who works true to the plan of that Temple. He has to build himself and thereby contribute to the building of humanity. How to live is a problem each of us must solve for

Text Box: Worshipful Brother Haller announced, at the officer’s meeting November 15th, his intention to do  degree work in the Entered Apprentice and Fellow Craft at stated meetings when the agenda allows for a timely meeting. However, in most cases he indicated the Master Mason Degree will be conferred at a special meeting due largely to the extent of the ritualistic work and, at the same time, avoid the extremely late hour on stated meeting nights.
Text Box: Twenty-five percent increase in attendance by members at stated and special meetings.  Ninety-five percent attendance for officers at all stated and special meetings, this includes all elected and appointed officers, not just line officers. Promote the lodge events in the community.

Attend—encourage attendance at all meetings and community events
Service—be visible in community. Open doors of the Lodge to the 	      community
Obligation—mentor a brother’s ritual work and leadership roles

Text Box: A computer has been installed in the lounge area, howbeit not internet accessible, nor is it networked with the computers in the office. We will premier a Power Point presentation November 22nd focusing on the 200th Anniversary of Scioto Lodge #6 F. & A. M.  Plans are to create additional presentations on Past Masters of Scioto Lodge #6 F. & A. M., Past High Priest of Chillicothe Chapter #4, Past Illustrious Master of Chillicothe Council #4 and Past Eminent Commander of Chillicothe Commandery #8.  Any material members of the Chillicothe Masonic Bodies they believe would be interesting and informative are encouraged to drop the material by the Office of the Secretary.
